Lifestyle Review: Invitation to ExitPlan - First Person Reality Game Room

1 May 2013 - Singapore's Labour Day and my official off day. I was invited by Mapwerkz and ExitPlan to enter into a reality game room along with 8 other bloggers for a brain fried afternoon. Read on to find out more about my very first event with Mapwerkz.

This is one rare event where you don't sit around tables, trying products or trying food.
It is quite a unique experience for a first timer like me.

John is the guy in the center

Exit Plan originates from Japan. According to John the Chief Exit Planner of Exit Plan this concept of an escape game originates from a virtual reality game which he played before. As he and his team were frequent players of the game, they decided to bring in this concept to Singapore along side with some friends who were able to help out. Their aim is to cover the whole wall with photos of teams who played their games which you will see in my upcoming photos in this post.

The "game" had already began even before you enter the game premises. If you are diligent enough and you had checked out their website. You will know that you have to enter the code "4242" located on the left side of me in the photo before entering their premises.

Did you notice the photos around the walls surrounding the posters?

There are currently 3 different and unique game rooms, where each team is given 50 minutes to solve some mystery and puzzles. The theme of the rooms are changed once every 2-3 months depending on the number of teams who have conquered the rooms.

As we are a large group of 9 persons, we were recommended to try out The Cursed Chamber. In case you are wondering how scary it feels when you are in the game room, you can be assured that although the room is dim, there are no sudden objects or persons that pops out to scare you and no eerie voices. The management have also taken into consideration the fire escape plan and a "help button" in case players get stuck when attempting the game.

So, here I present to you the 3 different rooms that are newly created since 1 week + ago.

The first room "The Cursed Chamber", this is the room which we attempted. Trust me, it is not as easy as you think. We were quite lost initially and we quickly gathered all the clues we could. We could not figure out what was going on and we struggled trying to piece hints together. But after some guidance, we managed to break some codes and we were so close to escaping.

Go challenge the hall of fame if you and your friends are game enough!

Try Focus Pocus before attempting Friends of Eriden due to the difficulty and challenge level. Focus Pocus has a 10% success rate.

More record timings to break!

This is one of the brightest room and I believe the hardest room. Check out their success rate! It is only 8%.

Check out the pricing if you are thinking of heading here!

Bring your partners here if you wish to bond and work together to gather clues and solve mystery. It is a cool dating place! I enjoyed myself. Thanks Mapwerkz and Exit Plan for the invitation.
