Food Review: Paradise Inn

6/29/2014

We finally arrived at Paradise Inn (Marina Square outlet) the other day after having lots of confusion with the location.

Photo opportunity before the dishes are served.

I love how cozy the whole place makes me feel with the hanging lights. Unfortunately, we
are just not sitting anywhere near here. We were put at one "dark corner" due to the lighting having some issue, but the area was cozy and very much secluded.

Some of the dishes that we ordered with the pricing on them. This is one super flavorful soup that you would not want to miss. Too big a portion for 2 persons, would be ideal for 4. Lots of soft pork ribs that we even packed home for the little Fido, I think the waitress may think we are insane.

I love the drinks both hot and cold. The apple Lychee is very fruity while the Jasmine Osmanthus Logan has great benefits. Both are great and worth the penny.

I would expect more from this dish, especially when it comes to presentation. I find the presentation a little dull and there wasn't much surprise from this dish except for the generous servings of prawns. Taste acceptable but I was definitely expecting much more.

The Stewed Pork Belly taste pleasant but there is nothing much to shout about. I would expect them to serve the pork belly right in the bun, though serving separately does gives you the advantage of not getting soggy buns and making a mess out of it.

I did not really enjoy the Teochew Crisp-fried Prawn Roll, something seems to be lacking and the flour coating was too thick, a thinner coat will entice me to have more of it. Biting into 1 or 2 pieces was enough.

Thai Baby Kai Lan with Salted Fish was a dish i especially looked forward to but it wasn't "Thai" enough. Perhaps some lime juice and more chilly will do some justice to the name of the dish. I didn't really taste the salted fish as well.

This dish was really a surprise!  I don't usually like venison meat due to its texture but this is really delicious and full of flavor. The ginger slices made me ate more I guess. Well done chef! This is my favorite dish of the night.

That's all folks! Before you go.. make your reservations first! :)

Pearly

  2. Hi Nick, the servings are quite huge. If you have just 2 pax you don't have to order so much. Alternatively, bring more people to break the cost. ;)
