Review: LUMOS FLOAT EVO-G Home Cinema under $500

I have been busy with minor upgrades within my home recently. Spot new electronics, appliances, furniture and what nots, since we had been living here for awhile now, many old appliances have since malfunctioned or gotten out of date.

My husband and I had been spending many quality nights watching Netflix and movies in our tiny bedroom, where it also held many of our life's important discussions. Having a small home in Singapore, we needed that mobility and space, hence we believe that investing in a new home TV in the room would not be most ideal.

Previously, we had the LUMOS FLOAT in our bedroom. You may notice the similarity of LUMOS FLOAT EVO-G Home Cinema compared to its predecessor, the LUMOS FLOAT. It is indeed an enhanced and better version, so if you are thinking of an upgrade, this might be a good one. Since we are already very familiar with its features, having used them regularly.

From walls to ceiling, the LUMOS FLOAT EVO-G Home Cinema has a 270° viewing angle. We like that it is rotatable so we can project either on the projector screen or sometimes even on the ceiling as we lie comfortably on our bed watching movies. This is done all without having to move the device, hence reducing disruption of screen time during a change of mind of viewing spaces.

The new auto focus and auto correction feature also allows us to get a clear focus, perfectly adjusted and aligned image upon turning on the projector within 15 seconds. You can still do manual adjustments if you are nit picking and aiming for that absolute perfection, but we are already amazed by its accuracy and how fast we can now get on to our favourite shows.

Speaking about watching our favourite shows, the Google TV allows us to access countless (think 10,000+ apps) via the Google Play Store. Watch everything on your device, from Netflix to YouTube, Prime Video and even playing our favourite songs on Spotify all from the same device.

Not only that, since it supports the Google Assistant, we can now search shows, open apps, control volume and playback simply through the voice control. Less scrolling, less searching and more time on movies. No more fumbling in the dark to navigate the controls, your voice it all it needs.

The LUMOS FLOAT EVO-G Home Cinema allows you to project up to 200" (subjected to the space and distance in your room), for a big immersive screen at a distance of 1.5m.

It also has 4K supported resolution ensuring that you get sharper images, richer colours and clearer details. Images appear life-like, sharp and vivid. Its powerful built-in dual speakers also ensures that you can enjoy a full audio experience with more immersive sound without having to plug in any external speakers.

Overall, we enjoyed the experience of watching a movie from our new LUMOS FLOAT EVO-G Home Cinema, and found the voice control helpful. We wished that it could be made truly wireless (no need to plug into the main switch) so that it will be truly portable. A front lens cover would also be very helpful to prevent dust build up over time.

Took my hubby for a mini photoshoot experience along the Punggol Waterway and we had some fun trying to shoot all these photos.

Clear and beautifully taken visuals

It shoots in clear 64MP photos and smooth 4k videos at 30fps that preserve its real life colours and moments. I loved how my landscape photo of the natural scenes in Punggol turned out. It truly captured "the moment" with water droplets and natural greeneries in the fore ground.

Natural Vintage Effect

Look at the effect that the camera created on an impromptu portrait photo of me. Its has a natural vintage, retro feel of a vintage camera. The photo is taken without any additional editing, but looking very natural. The time/date stamp feature is also a fun to have feature, keeping my photos looking very vintage. Please ignore them as the time and date are not accurate, we dd not adjust it to the current date/time, but kept it more for the feel.

16 Filters, 16 Moods

Set the perfect mood and vibes with every shot. Get the effects without having to edit. Just set your preferred filter and you are ready to go. Saves time in post-edits especially in this fast paced society. I really liked how some of these effects turned out except for the original one where my photographer went slightly out of focus because he was distracted by a pigeon nearby.

16X Zoom

Keep your photos still looking clear and sharp as you get closer to distance shooting using the zooming function. For my test shot, I am taking the bridge. Here is a photo for comparison between the bridge, an a wide angle shot of the Punggol waterway for comparison. Zooms are great for candid shots, useful for taking far objects, distant buildings and even living, moving moments and things.

Flip Screen

Since I love taking selfie, and often take vlogs for creating contents. I love that I can flip the screen easily and record myself without any help. The build-in flash also helps me with clear shots in low lighting conditions.

Loved how the photo turned out even with the flash, it doesn't look overly exposed.

All Day Battery

It is so important to have a reliable battery life which also allows for easy re-charge with USB C port, so that you don't have to worry about not being able to capture a moment. You can do so easily with your power bank, laptop or even your car using the universal USB-C ports. For someone who is afraid of running out of battery while taking photos on the go? Surely this is a bonus!

Compact and palm sized, can even fit in your pocket

The Durian Bakery - The number 1 award winning bakery in Singapore

My family loves durian and I am thankful for that because I am a fan of this delicious golden fruit too! Having them loving it means we get to eat it more often! Other than eating durians, we would sometimes indulge ourselves in durian cake and pastries especially when there are upcoming occasions, anniversary, birthdays etc (hint: Christmas is coming!) or on-going promotions. They make the best reasons in indulging yourself, don't they?

If you haven't already know of where to get the best durian cake, you can find it at Durian Cake Singapore. The owner started experimenting durian cakes and pastries from a home kitchen and refined her recipes along the way. She even rented a small kitchen space and enrolled herself in At-Sunrise GlobalChef Academy, just so that she could refine her craft and make her desserts better. Her journey reminded me so much of my own, constantly improving ourselves so that we can improve our craft, and that we all started from humble beginnings. Doesn't that gives you another reason to celebrate as well?

The Durian Bakery not only specializes in Durian Cakes, they are constantly upgrading themselves and coming out with more interesting varieties each year.

This time round, we got to sample their Classic Mao Shan Wang Durian Cake along with some pastries and desserts. They always have sale on their website so be sure to check them out when you are simply craving for durian cakes or have an upcoming occasion to celebrate.

I love the cheerful colours and beautiful layers of their 6" (15cm) Mao Shan Wang Classic Durian Cake and not to mention the pure meaty fleshy chunks of durian hidden in those layers, they tasted delicious although they were a little bitter. They looked beautiful with all those layers too! If you want them to feel firmer when cutting, simply put them into the chiller for a few hours before cake cutting. We skipped this as we didn't have any space in the chiller, which turned out fine as well saving us some time having to wait for the cake to defrost before cutting.

The 6"(15cm) Mao Shan Wang Classic Durian Cake is good for sharing with 5-8 persons but my family of 3 persons finished this in 2 sittings! We simply loved the cake so much! It is advisable to order only a size you can finish as they do not contain preservatives and are best consumed on the same day. You won't want to waste the baker's effort since they are baked on the same day with freshness guaranteed.

Because they have same day delivery, and free delivery when you purchase above $100 or there will be an additional $10 charge. So... why not...

why not take this opportunity to order some additional pastries to try out? We loved the Snowy D24 Durian Mochi so much too! Look at these cute little white balls that are so chewy! In it, you'll find more pure durian puree. Oh they are so yummss!!! I don't usually like mochi because of the thick skin outside but this one is really thin! Look at that stretch. They make a good mid-day snack when you take them out from the freezer, with the puree tasting like durian ice-cream.

Another of their must try is the MSW Burst Puff especially if you love puff pastries. This one has got to be one of my favourites, again credit goes to the Mao Shan Wang smooth, silky durian puree and of course the soft airy puff pastry shell. I can never have enough of them being a big puff pastry fan.

I loved that they also have the option to top up $5, for all these additional birthday accessories. They consist of a metal cake cutting knife, 10 pcs of golden candles and a large birthday topper (the one on the cake). These are good quality items which you can re-use, especially the metal cake knife.

Sudio K2 Pro Hybrid Earphones - The Next Gen Hybrid ANC Headphones Review

Hi!

I have gotten myself a little lifestyle upgrade recently with the coolest looking earphones from Sudio! I am a music lover and I love to sing, so these Sudio K2 Pro are such an upgrade for me! I had been deliberating to get myself a new set of earphones for so long, because my old ones are no longer functioning after so many years of using them. I am glad i did!

These Sudio K2 Pro earphones produce great sound quality and even has hybrid active noise cancelling capabilities, cancelling out environmental noise. I cannot even hear myself singing and cannot hear the sound from the wind of my fan blowing on my headphones when my ANC is activated! I love that they can be used wirelessly up to 10m, making them less clumsy to handle, yet still stylish looking and that they even matches well with any of my outfits.

You can also use them with the 3.5mm cable which is provided, simply plug them into your device and play your music. If you plan to use them for a longer period of them, this might be a better choice. With the plug in feature, you will be unable to activate the ANC features nor use the on/off function on the earphones, so they act as a very basic but still comfortable wearing earphones.

The Sudio K2 Pro earphones came in handy with their Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation. Prior to them. I had to rely on traditional ear plugs to block out renovation noise during these times when I am working from home. The drilling sounds coming from my neighborhood had been driving me crazy, especially when I had urgent work to complete. I just could not concentrate with work due to the high level of noise. This earphone gets an upgrade from the traditional ANC as unlike normal ANC earphones, they are able to pick up and cancel out constant level sounding and even environmental noises making work from home days much more comfortable for me.

Besides listening to my favorite playlist and being able to enjoy them without external noise, taking calls from it had been quite a joy because of the five build in mics. The caller could hear me clearly despite using a wireless headset. I am impressed.

Their 65 hours of playtime (up to 30 hours with ANC activated) after a 150 minutes full charge, ensures that my one charge is long-lasting. This makes it travel-friendly because I won't have to constantly charge my earphones especially when I am exercising outdoors and don't have access to charging cables. I can't wait to bring them overseas with me! The soft leather ear cushions make them suitable for long-wearing and ensures that they stay comfortable throughout my usage. The headset are also extendable by the sides if you have a bigger head, mine fits perfectly without extending.

Although navigating the touch panel is a breeze, it does take some time to familiarize yourself with the taps and controls. Thankfully, these set of tapping commands are quite common for earphones with touch controls. LUMOS Tablet Pro - My Verdict after using for 7 Days

LUMOS, a trusted brand by many, loved by celebrities, influencers and many others, popular for its projectors, has recently launched their second Tablet. It is none other than the LUMOS tablet Pro. The LUMOS Tablet Pro offers quite an upgrade in terms of its appearance and usability, compared to its older model. Let's take a look at them.

On first glance at its appearance, I loved that it looked so sleek, light and beautiful at just 490g, making it easy to bring it anywhere I want, be it using at home watching the latest drama or gaming and following up on emails outdoors. I can pick it up with 1 hand easily.

It now has an option for 4G Dual Sim, this option can keep me constantly connected, weather I am at home or travelling. It also saves me the hassle of having to constantly find stable and safe WIFI connection, restricting the use to home only. Although I can now bring my LUMOS Tablet Pro outdoors to use it confidently, I have not done so during the review period.

I find its IPS Display with Full HD+ especially helpful too. The 10.1 inch IPS Display packs a 1200p resolution, giving me not only crystal clear but, beautiful looking graphics as well. This beats having to stare at a small phone screen for hours, and not getting the full experience from the video I play. Been very hooked on a drama lately and the graphics were clear that it is such a joy watch the drama with my tablet, i guess there is also 1 less person fighting over the TV now that I can be glued to my tablet when I drama binge!

The enhanced storage of 18GB RAM now allows me to handle multiple apps all at once, without the lag (multi-tasking between working and games), while the 128GB Storage means additional storage for more files, photos, games and apps.

The 8 hours battery life, from 1 single charge, is sufficient to last me, for work, for play and entertaining myself with games and even binge watching a few episodes of my favorite drama continuously. That means I would not have to constantly charge my tablet.

Need a larger screen for work or play? Sure! LUMOS Tablet Pro have you covered with its mirror casting abilities. Simply mirror your screen to a bigger screen wirelessly if you have a Smart TV or plug in with HDMI. I used this function a lot for fact check of work documents before sending to my VIP clients and for mock up presentations at home during this trial.

Turning it into a mini laptop is also possible, with a top of just $79. The bundle includes a mouse, Bluetooth keyboard, stylus pen and a case cover for a productive boost. The casing acts as a protection for your tablet and your tablet stand. The mini laptop is small, but powerful and productive for work too.

Overall, I enjoyed using the LUMOS Tablet Pro and will see myself picking it up to use often for work and entertainment. As a fan of LUMOS product and having tried their projectors and tablets personally, the Lumos Tablet Pro had passed my trial and I feel that it is a worthy addition to my home and entertainment.
