Product Review: Hi-Tea Loose Tea - Sweet Osmanthus
4/28/2016
Have I mentioned to you that I am a regular tea drinker? Even when dining in restaurants I would go for Chinese tea. The 2 types of tea which i frequently indulge in is chrysanthemum tea and Sweet Osmanthus tea.
These two types of flower tea are very commonly served in Chinese restaurants.
I had the opportunity to try out the sweet scented, refreshing, Osmanthus tea from Hi-Tea. Do you know that this tea is widely used to make desserts such as Konyaku Jelly dessert because of the sweet smelling flowers and pleasantly sweet taste?
The Sweet Osmanthus Flower Tea is consumed to:
✿ Promote beautiful skin by purifying them
✿ Good for digestive system
✿ Good for those whom are coughing
✿ Soothe lungs
✿ Prevents Constipation
Drinking Time:
☀/ ☾ - Take it anytime, throughout the day as a refreshing drink
Contents:
✿ If you open up the sachet, you can see these dried, cute, dainty and beautifully scented Sweet Osmanthus flowers . These flowers smell so good that they have been used hundreds of years in the Chinese cuisine. They were also once used as the main ingredient in Jean Patou's "1000", which is the world's most expensive perfume.
Brewing and serving instructions:
✿ Each sachet can be brewed up to 3 times using hot water (based on a 300ml infusion rate).
✿ Infuse the tea and do a quick rinse off and pour it away, before infusing it for the second time and letting it sit before consumption. Do not soak it for too long during the wash as the taste of the tea gets milder with every infusion.
✿Seep tea for 3-5 minutes and increase the seeping time with every brew for stronger taste.
✿You can infuse the tea with the tea bag or opened it up on a tea strainer.
✿You can would not need to add honey or rock sugar for this tea as it is naturally light and sweet
✿You can take this drink chilled if you prefer a sweeter taste
Colour:
✿The Sweet Osmanthus Flower tea gives off a hue of yellow after infusing.
Taste:
✿Very Light, sweet, and refreshing.
Storage:
✿Keep the tea in a cool and dry place.
