Reflections - Organic beauty with a difference (Event Invitation)
1/23/2017
I
was very excited to be at the launch of Reflections Organics Make-up
last week held at Picnic (Wisma Atria). The event space was beautifully
decorated with the Chinese New Year mood and it has a Eco garden feel. I
don't even feel like I am indoors.
About Reflection Organic Make-up:
They use 100% vegan and cruelty-free formulations, sans synthetics and parabens. With a diverse array of professional shades to choose from, Reflections hopes to challenge the stereotypes surrounding organic makeup by providing high-performing, pigmented quality that remains nourishing to skin. Believing that beauty begins within, Reflections wants to empower women by creating makeup that actually benefits and improves their skin.
You may notice that the logo for Reflections looked like a butterfly. This symbolises the beauty of a women being transformed.
There
were plenty of their products on display and I managed to lay my hands
on some to try out the the texture and smell the product.
There is a piece of good news to share with all of you as you have been my fellow supporters for quite awhile now.
From now till 31 Mar 2017, quote "ROPearly17" to be entitled to 10% off all products on https://www.reflectionsorganics.com/.
The pressed eye shadow comes in various shades and they are highly pigmented, contrary to what others believe about organic make-up that they are light and non pigmented.
These are their range of lip butter which smells like cupcakes. They are vegan and gluten free, made with Jojoba, avocado and coconut oils. They almost seem edible.
Pressed Mineral Blush in Peach Tulip, Cherry Blossom and Water Lily.
Pressed Mineral Foundation of various shades.
Organic Liquid Foundation.
Lip Glaze that smelled amazing too. There were plenty of shades to choose froom, ranging from the transparent, glittery, shades of pink, nude and reds.
Nerissa,
founder of Reflections Organics shared with us the story behind
Reflections as well as the myths of Organic make-up and the efforts of
her charity work in contributing back to the society.
Let me share with you the 4 main reasons for choosing Organic make-up:
- Organic make-up not only beautifies you, it heals and improves your skin as you apply them, as the ingredients which they are made from nourishes your skin.
- The mineral make-up gives you sun protection as they contain titanium oxide, zinc oxide and iron oxide. These helps in lowering the risk from you getting skin cancer.
- Using Organic make-up protects our future generations as they do not contain harsh chemicals.
- Nourish the environment as ingredients are obtained from organic farms which are better for the plants, living creatures and human beings. It was followed by a beauty demonstration using Reflection Organic's cosmetic with a day and night look done on Emilie Tan the vegan ultra-marathoner who is currently pregnant to show that organic make-up is safe for use on pregnant woman too.
Thanks
to June's creative idea, we had the opportunity to make our own dried
flower mandala or dream catcher as some call this. It was very fun to
put together these dried flowers and they look so artistic. We were also
given a goodie bag before we left.
Thank you Boxgreen for the healthy fruit and nut snacks, Puvay for the chia lite collagen drink and Reflections Organics for the lovely goodie bag of make-up with the lovely peach box.
Let
me share with you my thoughts after trying out the organic make-up
which I had received from Reflections. I have been playing with them for
awhile now and I am looking forward to sharing with you a little more
about them on a separate post.
