Food Review: Pizza Delivery Singapore

7/30/2020

Hello everyone! I am back with another food review. This time, it's everyone's favorite Italian food which you can find in almost every other party and house-warming or gatherings. We used to cook pasta every other weekend when want a fuss-free meal, but we never tried to make any pizza as we find it a little troublesome, besides we don't have an oven at home.

I was delighted when Best in Singapore  offered me to try out some pizzas from PizzaDeliverySG , which was shortlisted as one of the best pizza deliveries in Singapore in their site, because in times of covid-19, food is very precious, as they help to feed my family and offer me a chance to try out new food hunts or restaurant which I've never had a chance to try out. Thanks for facilitating the orders!

Check out my order for the family:

As they were having 1-1 pizza promotion, and these are the main stars of the show, I thought why not?

La Americana (Large)

The thin crusted La Americana had strips of bacon and cheese on it, topped with pieces of chili, it also had a generous amount of onions, hence the pizza is sweet and flavorful. It can be quite spicy if you bite into one of the chili chunks, so chili lovers, go for it! My mum and I liked this.

Hawaiian Pizza (Large)

The Hawaiian Pizza, an all time favourite is topped with slices of ham, pineapple chunks, capsicums and bits of chicken. This version is more kid's friendly and suits most people's palette. You'll almost never go wrong with this. My husband prefers this to the La Americana, which was his requested order.

While we liked that Pizza Delivery uses thin crusted pizza, and had tasty tomato sauces covering their pizzas, my elderly mum had an issue on biting into the crust of both pizzas as it was a too hard and not crispy. Both pizzas was also no longer hot when it was delivered which was disappointing.

Pizza Delivery should consider investing in warmer bags, in future so that their food can remain hot when delivered.

Carbonara Spaghetti

You've probably guessed that my family is a fan of bacon and hams by now. The carbonara spaghetti too, has generous slices of bacons in it and a thick cheese carbonara sauce to go with it. It is unfortunately, not our favorite as it is too salty for my family's liking. The spaghetti was also hard and chunky and we had difficulty mixing it with the sauce. Perhaps the spaghetti should be made more moist so that they remain smooth.

Crispy Chicken Wings

The crispy chicken wings would be lovely if they could be crispier, but they go rather well with its dip. This was our favorite amongst the sides which we had ordered. It is flavorful but not too salty. It is unsurprising that this was the first dish that we cleared as well.

Left ( Mozzarella Cheese Stick) | Right (Honey Mustard Prawns)

Both tasted like they are products off the market shelves, in simpler words, they tasted like supermarket's frozen food. We couldn't taste any cheese oozing out from the mozzarella cheese stick which was disappointing, with most of our cheese sticks tasting flourish and looking empty on the inside. The honey mustard prawns were also petite in size, with its taste easily forgettable, and a dish that we could do without.

In Sum, what we ordered
❀ 2 Large Pizza : Hawaiian pizza, La Americana
❀ Carbonara Spaghetti
❀ For sides: Mozzarella cheese stick, crispy chicken wings, Honey Mustard Prawns

Overall Experience with Pizza Delivery Singapore

The friendly delivery guy delivered on time within their stipulated 1 hour delivery time frame, but our food was no longer hot and crispy when received, where and when they should be. While we like the presentation of the dishes and sauces that were provided for the sides, the food was mostly too salty or "flourish" and the sides we feel you can go without. We also wondered why there was no food labels at all, giving them no brand identity.

If you wish to give them a try, go for their variety of thin crusted pizzas and heat them up, to get their genuine taste! If, you do have a microwave oven at home. Nevertheless, we would still like to thank Pizza Delivery Singapore and Best in Singapore, for this collaboration opportunity, because its fortunate that we are still able to get food on our tables in these pandemic times.
