Face Aesthetics Treatment Review: TM Medical Aesthetics

6/02/2021

Ever since I tried my first non-invasive aesthetic treatment back in 2018, I have fallen in love with them because of how effective the treatments are. There are however, many types of such treatment in the market and not all of them will deliver equal results. Do read up about them and enquire with the aesthetic doctor if you are unsure if they are suitable for you, before you try out any of the treatments.

TM Medical Aesthetics is a newly set up Japanese themed, aesthetics clinic headed by Dr Mavis. You can feel the "zen" vibes as you enter their clinic. Located in Novena Medical Centre, where there are countless of other medical aesthetics around, it is hard to even notice of their existence if not because of their strong social media presence.

TM Medical Aesthetics also has a special 3D Face Mapping Technology, where you are able to see a 3D face scan of your face, so that the doctor can clearly see your problematic areas or areas which needed further improvement. This is also used to track changes and improvements that are often difficult to spot with the naked eye.

Before the beginning of my treatment, Dr Mavis (Head doctor at TM Medical Aesthetics ) explained to me that there are many types of Picosure Lazer in the market and they use different types machines. Some of them are more costly than the others, so the effectiveness highly depends on the machine and the technology itself.

She also explained that their Picosure Lazer is unlike those in the market, they are more effective, generates lesser heat and will not lead to burning of the skin unlike the others. There was also a limited number of these machines available in the market currently. This technology is US FDA approved for pigmentation removal, skin revitalization and can be used to remove tattoo as well. She also shared that as the maintenance of the machine is expensive, there was a certain price that the clinic has to set and cannot freely dictate a promotional price for the treatment. While the Picosure Lazer treatment are already popular with the Japanese, Singaporeans are still quite new to this new technology, thinking that all pico lazers are the same. Fortunately, they have priced their treatments quite competitively and you can read on to find how how to score yourself some discounts by reading till the end of my post!

As my main issues was with the pigmentation and freckles on my cheeks, under eye areas as well as some scaring left from my acne on my cheeks and chin areas, these were the areas of main focus when she did the treatment. A numbing cream was also applied for about 30 minutes before we started the treatment. Overall, there were only short zapping sensations felt on the skin, but it was a rather quick, painless and comfortable procedure.

Picosure Lazer is for you if....

- You need a tattoo removal
- You wish to get rid of pigmentations, freckles and spots
- You wish to get rid of your acne or facial scars
- You wish to get a glowing skin
- You prefer a non-invasive treatment with little to no down time

There were no adverse reactions after my Picosure Lazer. My face was pinkish within the first few hours after the treatment but there was no burning sensation or pain, my pigmentation became darker for a few days after before they faded into a nice glow on my face within a week. During this time, I also diligently applied a post-lazer cream continually for the next 3 days, as instructed by Dr Mavis. The cream is a mild steriod cream and was applied to soothe my skin in case of any irritation.

TM also does other aesthetic treatments if you are interested in cultivating your own glow! Feel free to check out their other popular treatments. Previously I did HIFU for my facial fats with them too, do check out my instagram for more updates and sharing.

Its been some weeks past my picosure lazer treatment but I am still reaping the benefits of a glowing skin from it! I wish to also remind all readers to go for treatments only administered by a licensed aesthetic clinic, always know what you are getting into, and know what to expect before you commit to any treatment.
