Food Review: Shepherd's Pie Singapore - Shepherd's Pie delivery to your doorstep
9/29/2020 During my schooling days, I learnt how to make Shepherd's pie in one of our pastry classes, but ever since then, I haven't got a chance to eat them. I guess this pastry isn't a very common one, needless to say, to find a good Shepherd's Pie was even tougher. I was happy when I was approached to try some of them from Shepherd's Pie Singapore.
It is interesting to note that this dish was created by the wives of shepherds, reusing leftover lamb meat from the night before. They also added fruits, nuts, raisins, oranges, nutmeg, currants and artichokes in the early day's recipe.
Today, different countries had given a new take to the Shepherd's pie recipe using new ingredients and some even adding gravy to the dish.

We ordered 2 dishes for the family of 3 to share and there were more than enough food. We wanted to order a variety but the vegetarian options, were not available. We avoided the beef dishes as my mum didn't take beef.
The Marconi and cheese was well loved by the family. It was full of chunky meat and the layer of cheese on top was very well baked. It would however be even better if the cheese could be well integrated into the shepherd's pie. The black pepper taste was also slightly faint and can be made stronger.
I was expecting a layer of crust on the sides and bottom of the pie so that the pie can be held properly in shape even when it was cut apart, but their version did not have any crust, so it ended up almost like my mum's fried macaroni, placed with cheese on top, baked in the oven for a crispy cheezy top.
Overall, it was still a satisfactory dish and it was very filling. This is a meal by itself. The Mac 'n' Cheese happen to be one of their new dish launched in the menu, you should try it if you haven't.
Hail the Chicken Shepherd's Pie because we loved how smooth the potatoes turned out to be. This dish had good portions of both the chicken and potato with a good taste profile. It is no wonder loved by so many. We prefer this over the Mac 'n' cheese and surprisingly it doesn't feel "too much" even after we each had a huge chunk of this pie. We are overall satisfied with this pie as well.
Overall Experience with Shepard's Pie Singapore
They delivered both of our pies promptly and very well packaged with proper brand labels and consumed by timings. The food was also piping hot and looking very presentable when delivered. I am very happy with the service.
