What do you do when you are bored at home and not working? Netflix?? Yes! My family too! Afterall, that is the most value for money form of entertainment and can be enjoyed by anyone and everyone in the family. 

It is quite surprising how the market had shifted over the years and now owning a Television at home is no longer a necessity! In fact, the latest trend now is a home projector, which can be found in almost every other Singaporean's home. Does it then make sense then to have one? We'll say yes because of all the convenience it brings! Say yes to movie dates and a portable movie theater, not restricted to within your bedrooms and living room. There are also countless of possibilities with these, because they are so portable and easy to set up. 

My family have been always contemplating to get a portable projector for our room, since we didn't want to have permanent fixtures due to space constraints. LUMOS NANO 2-in-1 Portable Projector and Bluetooth speaker managed to solve most of our issues and provided us with the luxury of a night-time cinematic experience which we have always wanted! In the day it works too, just try to draw the curtains and make your room darker for a better projection.

First Impressions/ Unboxing

On first impression, LUMOS NANO feels solid yet it is light at only 400g and petite. It is comparable to the size of a can of drink! It also comes with a remote control for easy controlling and a small tripod stand so that you can prop up the projector. If you prefer to operate the device on its own, you'll love it for the in-build touchpad right at the top of its sleek device.

When looking for a home projector, one of the key and must have feature is keystone correction. We loved that we were able to manually adjust it to our liking as the auto correction may sometimes not be accurate enough to give us the perfect rectangle within the walls which we wanted. 

Sometimes we get so stressed out at work that we just wish that we could lie down and enjoy our shows! This is possible with LUMOS NANO which can project on your ceiling! Due to its high performance DLP, the projected image doesn't look pixilated or grainy as well! I was lying down with my dog on me in my bedroom and looking at the ceiling projection where this photo was taken, therefore you will notice a slant. So relaxing, she must had fallen asleep from my singing!

Most of the times, we will just be projecting shows on our empty walls and doors around the house. We use the projector mostly in our bedroom to enjoy the entertainment while we chill out comfortably on our bed. I had never realized that we had so many furnishings and limited numbers of plain walls left at home until I had to take photos like this. It would be better if we had a proper projector screen so that we have a nicer projection, but for now we are using the textured surface on our cupboard doors. You are free to project your shows on any surface, even your empty table top or your pillow. Just ensure that you have a wide and flat surface for better visibility. I also use them to mirror cast (via Eshare) or via their inbuild airplay app, my mobile screen to share photographs, maps, and shopping sites especially when I need to ask for opinions from my family members and we all don't have to squeeze around a small screen. You can also use it for your zoom calls. For my husband who likes to chill out with mobile games, he used it as an enlarged game screen.
