You'll notice that not much had been changed with the packaging of having the product in a red sleek tube. I wish they could use other colour for the text on the tubes or changed it back to white though, as you can't really see any text other than their brand logo here.

Althea did it again this month by launching a brand new product. I am getting parcels from them almost every month now in their oh so pretty pink box, and no complains, I'm loving them. I kind of feel that Althea will dominate the skincare product range soon as they now have everything from a face cleanser, toner, moisturizer to face mask. Under the make-up range, Althea also launched the various shades of petal velvet powders.

My personal skin care range is largely dominated by Althea products and they've been doing nothing but silently taking care of my skin. I have seen improvements after every single use and find myself loving their products more. They've also made me think... what's next?

Introducing to you the newest item launched by Althea. It is also a first time trying out a milk based peeling product.

The 3-step Milk Peel Cream Mask (50ml), is housed in a white press bottle with a baby blue cap. What is it? This is a milk peel cream mask face exfoliator which contains AHA and BHA extracts. It magically transforms from a clay-like texture to a whip cream upon lather. Gently removing your dead skin cells to reveal a healthy, moisturized, radiant and bouncy skin , washing away all those dead skin and flakiness.

Most importantly, it smells so good and is formulated with casein protein from milk to revitalize and moisturize your skin.

This product suits all skin types including the most sensitive type like mine but is specially tailored for users with enlarged pores, dry skin which requires moisturizing, rough but sensitive skin which requires gentle exfoliation and combination skin types.

How does it work? It contains AHA to remove dead skin cells on your skin's surface. BHA to remove impurities and declog your pores + milk to moisturize and refresh your skin.

To use it, simply apply an even layer of the product on to your face after wetting it. Massage the product until a foamy lather is formed. Leave it on for 30-60secs and wash off with warm water.

It is amazing to watch as it turns from clay to foam within seconds, simply by rubbing it on my hands.

I love how gently it exfoliate away my skin's dead cells yet protect my skin at the end of the exfoliating process. I also loved the smell of the product, somewhat like baby powder and will continue to use it as there are no negative effects thus far.

Always practice a patch test before you use any new products and know that because everyone's skin's condition is different, my results may differ from yours.

If you would love to get one for yourself, its retailing at $12.50 (50ml), go ahead and I strongly encourage you to visit https://sg.althea.kr/milk-peel-cream-mask for more information as well as to purchase. For a limited time only, grab your Althea exclusives with a check out code of "PBSHIP".

My eczema had been with me since I was a child, being most prominent on my hands and legs. Over the years, the eczema on my legs have seem to get better, although they were always there. Those days, my family members were very desperate to help me, because itch is a condition that is impossible to cure. You can only apply temporary itch relief cream and the itch would return soon after. As an eczema sufferer, there is nothing much I can do when i feel the itch on my often broken, scaly and peeling skin.

As a young child, my mother can put mittens on my hands, make me wear socks, long sleeve shirts and long pants so that I would stop scratching, but as I grow older, this gets harder. I have tried almost every possible product in the market that was meant for Sensitive skin. To cut the very long story short, I have since started the Let's Fight Eczema column in my blog, hoping to help this special group of sufferers like me. You are not alone, let's fight this together.

What is Eczema?
It is otherwise known as Atopic Dermatitis, a skin condition that often results in red, broken skin and itch.

I have been on the look out for eczema skin relief products, and I saw Suu Balm while shopping in one of the local pharmacy and decided to read up about this product.

Suu balm featured here includes the 75ml tube, 15ml travel tube and sample sachets.

Who/What is Suu Balm?

Suu Balm is a product formulated at the National Skin Centre (NSC) for the purpose of relieving itch. The product is designed for anybody with dry, itchy skin to provide itch relief and increases the frequency of moisturizing, breaking the itch-scratch cycle to prevent further damage from scratching.

If you are wondering, Suu Balm does not contain steroid and is paraben free. You are encouraged to apply it anytime when your skin feels dry and itchy. Due to its menthol content, the cream is not suitable for children under 3 years. You are also not encouraged to use the cream on broken skin, wet skin or near your mouth and eyes as they can sting on these areas.

Suu Balm in 75ml , purchase online @ $19.90 and get the travel size 15ml tube for free.

Let's put Suu Balm to the test:

On day 1, immediately after I got my Suu Balm, I decided to apply it on my elbows and fingers.

You can see how bad my elbows and fingers are. Some spots are red and I have scratched till my skin are broken and cracking.

On day 2, I realise that the broken skin on my elbows were healing. The skin around my fingers were still cracking but the crack had begin its healing process too.

On day 3, my eczema was very itchy so I couldn't control myself. Even when I applied Suu Balm, it did not help me much with the itch relief. You can see new spots on the base of my elbow but the old spots were healing. The broken skin on my palm also worsen.

During this 3 days of the product trial, I feel that Suu Balm works better on my elbow than my fingers and palms. Even when I had an uncontrollable itch and scratch my elbows, Suu Balm still continues to moisturize my skin and heals them.

Review of Suu Balm

What they claim to be:
- Smooth & non-sticky
- Moisturizing
- Soothing

Texture: ★★★★☆
Suu Balm does feels smooth when applied as they proclaims, and it is a little oily than sticky when applied (that's the purpose of a moisturizer right?) It feels soothing because of the menthol content, that's when you get your immediate itch relief, similar to what you will get from applying calamine lotion or applying a medicated oil, but it does not dry out my skin compared to those. It is very light and more on the watery than creamy side, so it feels comfortable when applied on the skin.

Scent: ★★★★★
I am glad that they do not contain any artificial fragrance except for the menthol smell. I do not recommend you to put your nose near the product as it may sting your eyes.

Caring Tip:
As eczema sufferers, we should refrain ourselves from using any products which contain fragrance. This includes perfume or any strong scented products even on our household products or cleaning detergents.

Results: ★★★★☆
I like how Suu Balm relief my itch almost instantly when I feel like scratching my skin, especially on my hands and elbow areas. I also see myself reaching out for Suu Balm whenever i feel itchy more than reaching out for my steroid cream. I especially like that it contains menthol and give me the cooling sensation when I applied the product, this is something that most commercial moisturizers cannot provide me.

Suu Balm is most effective for me before bedtime as I would apply it, let the menthol do its job, sleep and wouldn't feel any itch.

Rating: ★★★★☆
Recommended for people with sensitive, eczema skin and need a relief from itch and scratching.
People with dry skin should also try Suu Balm.

Final thoughts:

Suu Balm in travel size (15ml), these are great for us on-the-go, especially for serious eczema sufferers, small tubes are easier to carry and lighter.

Unlike daily commercial moisturizers that only work to help boost the moisture content in your skin, Suu Balm contains menthol which acts as an almost instant itch relief. You can even use them for temporary relief of itch from insect and mosquito bites. I especially like to apply them before heading outdoors and before bedtime. I feel that the smell of the menthol in Suu Balm, helps me repel these nasty insects too.

No doubt Suu Balm is useful to moisturize an eczema skin, this is not a medication for eczema skin. It also depends on how serious is your condition so I would suggest you to continue your oral medication and steroid creams if you have very serious eczema but use this moisturizer as an added protection. For seasonal eczema cases or those with lighter skin condition, applying Suu Balm itself should be able to help your skin heal fast.

Suu Balm is especially helpful for eczema sufferers but people with normal skin looking for moisturizers can reap its benefits too. Use it as a daily moisturizer after your shower, after sports to moisturize your skin and give your skin some much needed love.

Regardless of any products, do check out its ingredient list to make sure that it does not contain any ingredients that you are allergic to. If unsure, always check with the pharmacist or your doctor before buying the product or you may want to request for a sample here, please note that samples are available for those residing in a Singapore address only, and do a patch test on your skin before applying on affected areas.

You can buy Suu Balm online, or visit Qoo10 and search for Suu Balm, or at most Watson’s Pharmacy stores and OG Department stores. Suu Balm can also be purchased at several hospital pharmacies (National Skin Centre, NUH, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Changi General Hospital) and from certain dermatologists and GP’s.

It is so exciting that Althea KR has recently launched their very first beauty product, the Althea Petal Velvet loose Powder, which is inspired by the Korean Althea petals. The team has put in lots of effort for this press kit. (Please note that miscellaneous items are not included when you purchase the loose powder. I can't wait to try it out.

The product $6/3g and is suitable for all skin types, it comes with a thick and small fluffy puff for your application.

You are advised to remove the sticker used to seal the little dispensing holes, before using the loose powder.

The translucent loose powder is made with micro-fine particles to minimize the appearance of your pores. The powder also aims to Matt-iffy your skin without dehydrating it and giving it a light and perfect finish. It has a light floral scent to it.

Ingredient List:

SILICA, MICA, VINYL DIMETHICONE/METHICONE SILSESQUIOXANE CROSSPOLYMER, DIMETHICONE/VINYL DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER, METHICONE, HIBISCUS SYRIACUS SEED EXTRACT, HYDROGENATED LECITHIN, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE, MALTODEXTRIN, FRAGRANCE

Look at that translucent finish and how light the powder feels when applied on my hands. For this product testing, I did not make use of any make-up base.

Review:
I love the small and cute packaging of the loose powder, but find that 3g seems to be too little. Perhaps this is because its Althea's first product, I look forward to more volume in their future packaging. Price wise, I find it acceptable.

For the effects from the loose powder, I love how light-weight it felt on my skin with the gentle fragrance which is not over powering or sweet smelling. It also worked well as a finishing powder, on my combination sensitive skin. The powder does not clog my pores and I sometimes prefer to apply it with a kabuki brush instead.

Check out more information on this product and purchase it here.

The ShoeTree Project is a startup re-inventing the shoe and leather care industry. Leather care products used to be relegated to the high ended physical shops in Orchard Road, resulting in prices that were sky-high and out of reach from prospective customers.

The Shoe Tree Project, hopes that using their online platform, they can bring the same high quality products at mass market prices, and deliver these products right to the doorsteps of their customers. Their goal is to become the dominant industry leader in shoe and leather care e-commerce.

I am happy to be given the opportunity to try out and see for myself how their Varnished Japanese oakwood shoe horn ($16) and Saphir leather conditioner 75ml ($28) worked. As we don't have a leather sofa at home, we experimented the products with my husband's leather shoe, and some of our other leather products.

Do you sometimes have new shoes that are so tight that you struggle to place your feet in? I believe most guys have experienced this issue.

The contoured spatula like structure of the shoe horn can assist you in these situations. Whoever thought of this idea is a genius!

For just $16, this product can last you for a lifetime, save you from having to squat down when wearing tight pants and causing counter tears and wear offs from repeated crushes while trying to get your feet into your shoe.

This 40cm shoe horn is elegant, durable, water and mold resistant. My husband had used it since receiving, and till now, we are happy that it have not give way. Overall, we are satisfied with the quality of the Japanese oak wood shoe horn and it is surely a useful tool to have around our shoe cabinets.

The Saphir Renovateur Leather Cleaner and Conditioner on the other hand, is a great way to care for your quality leather products and can help them last for a lifetime. The conditioner keeps your leather products moisturized as it contains mink oil, lanolin and beewax.

Let's now put the Saphir Renovateur to the test and see how it works on my husband's leather shoes.

Husband's rather old leather shoe before any cleaner is applied

Husband's rather old leather shoe after Saphir Renovateur Leather Cleaner and Conditioner is applied.

You can see the immediate shine on his shoe, but do bear in mind this is not a shoe shine. It's intention is to condition your leather products to prevent cracks, crease, mould, mildew, salt and prolong it's life. It acts as a layer for waterproofing too.

Husband's rather old leather shoe after Saphir Renovateur Leather Cleaner and Conditioner is absorbed

Give it about 2-3 minutes and you will see the conditioner slowly fading off leaving a matt finish on the shoe. You can still see light traces of the conditioner on his shoe but it gradually fades off.

Leather Wallet before and after conditioning

Look at the dirt left on the cotton

Look at that smooth and matted finish on my wallet! Seems like all the gunk and dirt had been cleaned off and it is conditioned to last a longer time now. Unlike handbags which I owned more than a piece, for wallet I will only have one of those so I would like them to last as long as they can.

While the Saphir Renovateur Leather Cleaner and Conditioner had some smell to it and feels a little oily when applied onto the products, the oily feeling fades off gradually as it is being absorbed by the leather, leaving a nice matt finish.

Overall we are satisfied with both quality products. Do visit their site at The Shoe Tree Singapore and check out the rest of the products they carry. Start caring for your leather products and shoes at affordable prices today. I believe these makes good presents for your male friends too.

I am sure by now most of you have heard of beauty boxes. There are several brands in the markets which are offering you a box full of goodies monthly, bi-monthly, and quarterly.

While some brands allows you to select the products which you like, other brands market them as a "surprise" box, where they will carefully curate the products according to your skin profile.

Today I am going to share with you more about such subscription services and be showing you one of the beauty boxes that I am currently onboard with.

* Information on table is based on my own research (Sep 2014), information may not be 100% accurate and subjected to changes by the service provider. Check out the respective services before you make any decision.

So I finally received a glamabox for the month of September for review, delivered right to my door step. I missed this kind of feeling, so personalized. They delivered on time as they promise.

Check out the products and brands, some of which are not available in Singapore.

My box full of goodies. Brands and items included in my box are mostly deluxed sized, if not in sachets. A total of 8 brands included. So, when I read 4-5 items in their website. I feel they have exceeded my expectation and over delivered on their promise. *Thumbs Up*

The products in September's Love Your Body glamabox includes:

-All Belle - Oxy - Fibre Fasle Eyelash + Nail Air Patch Stickers
-Olive Oil Skin Care Company - Handmade Pure Castile Body Wash (Unsecented)
-Exsicata Hydrating Anti-Aging Night Cream
-LSP Moisture Shampoo + Moisture Conditioner
-Dermal Rose Collagen Essence Mask
-Re:cipe Lemon Slowganic Cleanser
-Enita Lemongrass series
-Seabamed - Viso Active Hydro Gel

Let me go over the items with you and some of my experiences.

Re:cipe Lemon Slowganic Cleanser - $71.80 for 100g

I was given 10g of Lemon Slowganic Cleanser (face cleanser), where 98% of it is made from natural ingredients. There is greentea, 7 kinds of supreme essential oil, 12 kinds of plants and fresh cream in it.

Thoughts:
What is interesting to me is that this little container of face cleanser is very nicely packaged and it can be used both as a face cleanser and as a mask. As it is made from natural ingrediants, users with sensitive skin can use this at ease. Take a look at the texture of the product, looks like some egg mousse. It is very light in texture and goes off easily when washed, leaving you with a faint refreshing lemon scent.

Enita Lemongrass series (2 in 1 shower lotion 40ml + Body Balm 10ml + Bergot Tea and Aloe Sugar Butter Scrub 5ml)

-Lemongrass 2 in 1 shower lotion 300ml $30,
-Lemongrass essential butter 200ml $23,
-Bergot Tea and Aloe Sugar Butter Scrub 190g $24.

The 2 in 1 shower lotion is a gentle and non-drying shower lotion that works with the warm and humidity of your shower for a soft and smooth skin after one use. It contains mild and gentle surfactant to ensure a clean rinse that is non-drying and to give your skin a long-lasting moisture.

The body balm is blended with shea butter and argan oil, which moisturize and replenish the dry and uncomfortable skin.

The Bergot Tea and Aloe Sugar Scrub is enriched with Aloe Leaf Extract, to provide deep hydration and anti-inflammatory protection which helps calm the sensitive skin and repairs damaged cells and stimulates skin regeneration. The aloe leaf extract provides you with whitening and sun protection effects. The butter scrub on the other hand, is a blend of Apricot seed powder, natural sugar crystals, argan oil, olive oil and shea butter. These ingrediants helps to boost blood circulation and smoothes away dead skin cells to keep your skin refined and radiant.

Thoughts:
I have tried both products (except the scrub) and they give me a "Spa sensation". I will be bringing these products on my next trip (Hopfully i'll remember to save some). Best to be used at night for a relaxing shower under a warm water rain shower.

Dermal Rose Collagen Essence Mask $2.60 per piece.

This mask contains Rose Water and is effective for moisturizing dry and rough skin, keeping your skin bright and elastic.

Olive Oil Skin Care Company - Handmade Pure Castile Body Wash (Unsecented) , $29.10 for 500ml

Its pure and contains no other additives.

Thoughts:
Looks rather watery, I didn't really like the feel of it, and yes it feels rather oily and smells oily too.

Sebamed - Viso Active Hydro Gel $29.80 for 50ml

This product contains hyaluronic acid and aloe vera to promote cell regeneration. While Allanton and panthenol can smoothen and renew skin. You will see a significant improvement in your skin's moisture content and a significant reduction in skin roughness. Suitable for sensitive skin users.

Thoughts:
It has a very light gel-lish texture but it doesn't feels sticky on the skin when applied. I like the gentle floral-like smell when i massaged it into my skin.

Exsicata Hydrating Anti-Aging Night Cream, $161 for 50g

It contains an exclusive formula with plant-derived actives to nourish, smoothen and firm the skin. Contains botanical extracts of Pfaffia Paniculata (Brazilian Ginseng), Caesalphina Spinosa, and Scutellaria Baicalensis to reduce signs of facial ageing.

LSnP Moisture Shampoo + Moisture Conditioner Shampoo $11 for 480ml, Conditioner $11 for 480ml

This product helps to make your hair smoother and shiner. It contains grape seed oil which is highly anti-oxidant and creates a protective case on top of your hair to prevent moisture loss and hair splits.

Thoughts:
Tried it and it works for me, love the pleasant smell and smooth texture that it has left on my hair.

All Belle Nail Air Patch Stickers, 12 stickers for $5.40

These patches are easy to use by sticking on your nail, and filing away the excess stickers. There are over 800 patterns to choose from.

All Belle - Oxy - Fibre Fasle Eyelash, 5 pairs for $17.50

All their lashes are made of virgin synthetic fibre, each pair of eyelashes shows you the perfect curve naturally. Eyelashes are SGA certified and GAMMA Ray sterilized and they do not contain recycled components.

Thoughts:
The eye lashes looked very durable and natural and they even included glue in it.

Kudos to the Glamabox team for this amazing and generous box of beauty products.
