Sudio Elva and Sudio Fly G Review - Your smart travelling companion

Lifestyle 9/10/2020

Sudio is about to release their latest Sudio Elva neckband wireless earphones! If you haven't already heard of them, Sudio Elva comes packaged with Sudio Fly G, a travel audio transmitter adaptor, which allows you to connect any of your Bluetooth earphones, to a non Bluetooth device with at least a 3.5mm earphone jack, especially so, when you are on a plane.

How cool does it sound? Speaking of which, most of us are now stuck at home and have to shelf our travelling plans. So, I will base this review on my home trial, using them for/while at work and during my leisure music listening activities.

Click on my youtube video for the unboxing of this new earphone, or read on as I share more about them!

First Impressions

As always, I like their sleek packaging, coming in a drawer box, with everything nicely and neatly packaged in them, so that allows me to stow everything away nicely.

The actual earphones however, appears to be too chunky for my liking, mostly due to their dangling neckband wires. Sudio had long deserted their wires in their earphones and gone true wireless, so I was rather surprised, and taken aback, to see these dangling wires making a comeback. I also spotted these cute small magnetic nodes which helped keep both my earphones together, which can be helpful if you're hanging them over your neck.

Revealing the contents within the Sudio drawer box. They have also gifted me a Sudio cardholder along with these PR earphones.

Revealing the contents within the Sudio drawer box, underneath the earphones, spot Sudio Fly G.

This makes keeping the earphones quite a hassle as well, since the only place I could now keep them was back in the box or leave them hanging somewhere on my work desk.

It's strong U shaped wires on the other hand, makes hanging these earphones around my neck comfortable and hanging on hard surfaces possible. My husband who tried it on the other hand, found it too heavy and didn't like the feel of these earphones.

Highlights:

♪ Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)
♪ Bluetooth Flight Adapter (inclusive in package)
♪ IPX5 water protection (Splash/rain/sweat proof)
♪ Voice Assistance
♪ Nintendo Switch gaming compatible

Pairing on my iPhone & working laptop was a seamless affair with auto pairing function, and since it comes with ANC (which can be activated or deactivated by pressing on the middle button quickly twice), it kept me away from unnecessary distractions, so that I could fully concentrate on my work.

Having to walk away from my music source occasionally, did not deterred my music from playing as well due to 10m Bluetooth range. I could walk around the house without having to be near my music source. Do note that activating the ANC would also increase the volume of your music slightly.

I love the music and is happy with the sound quality from these Sudio Elva earphones. I use them mostly when I watch my Chinese drama, when I am away from work, or to play some soothing songs on youtube, while I am working on my desk.

I feel that the Sudio Elva is a good companion for jogs and other light exercises in the park or gym as well since the U shape neckband allows you to anchor the neckband earphones comfortably on your neck as you exercise.

This is also particularly good for those whom are seeking for a wireless earphone but afraid of sudden fall outs, or to lose their earbuds while they are engrossed with their activities.

Sudio Elva can be detached to charge. It doesn't have the regular charging ports at the sides.

With 5 additional pairs of earbuds in place, I'm sure you'll find the perfect fit. Sizes ranged from XXS to L. Using the perfectly fitted earbuds ensures perfect noise cancellation and comfort for your ears.

I was gifted with the black Sudio Elva, along with the cardholder for the purpose of this review.

What's included in the pack:

At this moment if you are wondering about when you can be using Fly G, and under what scenario you'll be using them, read on.

The purpose of Sudio Fly G (a travel audio transmitter adaptor with 2 3.5mm earphone jack) allows you to connect a non Bluetooth music device with at least a 3.5mm jack, to any wireless headphones. It has a battery life on its own, and requires to be charged using a USB-C type cable (included in the pack). Do note that it doesn't charge any of your devices.

Please be reminded to fully charge them before you use them to ensure that you get to use them up to an optimum 12 hours. This is sufficient for most flights around the region, more than the length of a typical 2-3 hour movie.

Sudio Fly G
♪ Bluetooth version: 5.0

♪ Bluetooth Range: 10m

♪ Battery Life: up to 12 hours (2 hrs charging time)

♪ USB-C type wiring cables

It is quite easy to pair Sudio Fly G to my Sudio Elva after learning the steps to do it, and understanding about the device. You can basically pair your wireless headphones to Sudio Fly G, then plug Fly G to your source (with at least a 3.5mm audio jack) and you are ready to use them. This works for most, if not all in-flight, laptops, media devices, gym machines, home/hotel TV as well.

Sudio Fly G is great for pairing these older devices, or in places where they are unable to have Bluetooth enabled devices due to certain restrictions, you'll find this travel audio transmitter adaptor really handy.

In summary, although Sudio Elva and Sudio Fly G are packaged together, they can be used separately if desired. Sudio Elva is great for both indoor and outdoor use and has a comfortable neckband who doesn't mind it's dangling wires. Sudio Fly G on the other hand, allows you to be connected via Bluetooth to your music devices which do not have inbuild Bluetooth technology in them but has a 3.5mm earphone jack. Both are great and since they are packaged together, why not give them both a try if your budget allows.

Sudio ETT Review - Sudio's first wireless earphones with ANC and wireless charging

Lifestyle 5/27/2020

Working from home? Take note as this could be your new favorite if you are considering to upgrade your current earphones. With home-based learning, back to back work call meetings and even exercising moving to home, this gadget helps you stay safe, but feel connected.

The all new Sudio ETT in classic black, with Active Noise Cancelling (ANC), wireless charging capabilities and up to 30 hours of long battery life, helps you keep out all the unwanted noise from babies crying, nagging partners, television program playing out of your working room, and shuts out part of the noise from the airplane flying pass you.

At first glance, I'm in love with its sleek, petite casing which can stand on it own, when placed on my work desk. The casing double up as a charging case and have a magnetic soft closing, allowing easy retrieval of your swanking new earbuds, keeping them dust free and easy to bring along, wherever you go.

Here's a guide on the controls,

Music Controls:
To play/pause : Press the button once
For next song: Press the right button 2 times

For the previous song: Press the left button 3 times

I am happy that they re-introduced back the press buttons instead of the tap buttons, which made navigating through songs a breeze. I loved the sound effects even when I played my mobile games. The sounds of regular musical instruments also sounded perfect, so no complains.

Phone Controls:
To answer call: Press the right button 1 time
To reject call: Press and hold the right button for 2 seconds

♪ IPX5 water protection (Splash/rain/sweat proof)
♪ Dual-microphone with transparency mode activated during your phone calls for an enhanced sound quality
♪ Multi-function button for better controls

Automatic pairing was a breeze, and easy be it on my laptop, ipad or with my mobile phone. I did not have to struggle with the pairing. Its battery life was good as it last me for quite a few days with on-off usage, without me having to recharge it.

Specifications:
♪ Playtime: 6 hours of play time, 4 hours with ANC

♪ Bluetooth version: 5.0
♪ Wireless Charging: YES, quick charge with USB-C, 90 minutes to full charge
♪ Range: 10m
♪ Weight: 5g per earbud

With the 10m range, I can walk away from my music source, going around the house if I need to, and not risking to have my music cut off. I even tried wearing them on while doing my yoga poses and they worked just fine. No interruptions and to my surprise, they didn't drop out as well.

With 7 additional pairs of earbuds in place, I'm sure you'll find the perfect fit. The additional earbuds are also good if you are sharing this gadget with your family members. I'm good with their default size as it sits snugly on my ears.

I liked how neatly they had packed the earbuds allowing for easy retrieval and choosing compared to being packed loosely. Sudio can perhaps consider selling these earbuds so that users can mix and match the colors or replace their worn out earbuds if there is a market for these.

I am also appreciative that this time, Sudio had included a separate Owner's Guide for its controls & specifications where we can refer to easily. This is very helpful for new Sudio users, for myself I am quite seasoned to their controls.

Product Review: Sudio Nivå, the true wireless ear pods

discount code 10/05/2018

Who else is a Sudio fan like me? Hands up please! Sudio had recently launched their first completely wireless earphones. *Throws confetti*. It is great just owning a set of wireless earpiece and not having to trip all over wires and now, they've came out with a true completely wireless earphone! The difference is that there is really no wires attached. Gosh! am I so glad they did. This will be very helpful when I travel on long journeys and anywhere even when i run my errands.

This wireless earphone, Sudio Nivå comes with a battery life of 3.5hours but that's not all. Running of out juice? You get to charge your earphones up to 4 charges continuously with the sleek and portable charging and storage case which comes with it, and the best thing? No additional cost for this casing with comes with your Sudio Nivå .

All you have to do is place the earbuds back into the case and this will give your Nivå up to 17+ hours of battery life on the go. You don't even have to bring along your power bank. Save it for your mobile device. How convenient I feel, besides, the casing is really light and trendy looking, just like a make-up case and fits perfectly into any handbags. I somehow secretly wish that the case could double up as a juice bar to enable me to charge up my mobile device too. The flip side is that you have no way to tell if your Nivå is fully charged and the casing somehow never gets fully charged up despite me trying for days with and without the ear pods in them when connected to a main power source.

The Sudio Nivå also features Bluetooth 4.2 and has a 10m wireless range. On top of it all, it looks fashionable and matches with all your outfit easily. What I sometimes struggle with thou is the connectivity which would suddenly drop from one side of my ear pods which left me with sound in only the other ear pod. This can be quickly resolved by switching the ear pod on and off or re-pairing my device.

What I also liked about Sudio Nivå is that although it will disconnects itself when it is out of range but reconnects back to your music source when you get back within the 10m range zone without having to re-pair the device.

Another flip side of the ear pods is that you can only control the volume of the device with your music device and not with the ear pods. Control of the on/off, disconnect functions can be easy accessed by long pressing and holding the ear pods.

The ear pods are comfortable for wearing and fits nicely on my ears. There are 2 additional pairs of ear sleeves if the attached one doesn't fit your ears.

In all, I find the Sudio Nivå chic, fashionable, fuss free, convenient, light weight, easy to use and great for those who love to have great music on the go. Especially when you are travelling on long distances and need to keep away from external noises despite the few small and manageable issues.
