LUMOS Tablet is affordable with great features. It features an impressive 10.1-inch screen which allows you to easily browse articles, watch videos and work with a big screen size. It's 4k resolution also makes viewing videos super clear. Images appear sharp and not pixilated when viewing them on the LUMOS tablet. For its price, it offers you an 8GB RAM which would otherwise cost 2 times more. With the large battery capacity of 6000 mAh, you can run the tablet without charging for up to 8 hours.

Just like your smart phones, this smart tablet also has all the apps which you will need. While it comes with some default apps, you can download additional apps such as Netflix, Spotify, Facebook, Instagram, or even your favorite mobile games. You can essentially download all the apps which you can find via the play store just like how you would on your android smart phones, so long as your tablet still has memory space for them.

Remember that I mentioned about its ability to use it as a mini laptop? Review: LUMOS FLOAT 360° rotatable Home Cinema Projector

Happy 2025 my dear readers. How time flies!

Have you heard? LUMOS, a trusted local projector brand recently launched its first 360° rotatable and hangable projector, called the LUMOS FLOAT. LUMOS is always ahead of their competitors in the projector game and constantly brings us pleasant surprises in their new models. This particular model comes in 3 colours, gold, silver and pink to fit your home aesthetics.

Look at how compact their projector is. I could not believe how small this projector is to be able to fit into this small box, including its accessories and cables.

Standard cables and accessories, including an attached unique hangable SkyTrack are included in the package. The SkyTrack can be directly hung on a sturdy hook on your walls, saving you the trouble of having to drill on your walls. You can get the hooks from 3M. It also acts as a stand to hold your projector, when you place it on a flat surface.

Weighing only 750g, it is so light and easy to bring around the home for various usage. With their 360° rotation, you can project your movies on walls, ceilings and floors at various angles, without having to manually move the projector around.

The automatic keystone correction function which auto detect and correct the distorted image also makes it more user-friendly. Lesser need for adjustment means less frustration, and more time for your movies. You can also make use of the remote control's function keys to adjust the focus manually.

P/s: The image on the projector screen may appear dull as compared to the screen only images, as I had to on the night lights, for this photo.

When you can tilt the LUMOS FLOAT upwards on your empty ceiling, it allows you to lie comfortably on your bed while you enjoy watching your movie.

Depending on your room's dimension, it can project up to a massive 150'' screen with 1080p supported resolution. With a short distance of 1.5m, it can give you a huge 50'' screen. On top of that, expect an impressive 1080p supported resolution (native 720p). The LUMOS FLOAT is 225% clearer than other standard projectors in the market. With its bright 3000 lumens, the graphics appears richer, more vibrant and less washed out.

For the smart version, it is an all-in-one which comes in-build with the standard applications such as Netflix, YouTube, Spotify and other movie apps. The loading time of the applications also seemed to have improved compared to its other older projector models. I like the enhanced start-up screen as it looks more organized, and I can quickly find my movie applications. The in-built apps allow you to play directly, saving the time and hassle of having to plug in and connect to external apps.

However, if you do need external connections, it has inbuilt Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, allowing you to connect to your own speakers and plug in applications. One other useful feature is its wireless mirror casting which allows you to cast your phone screen to play games, scroll your social feeds and websites on its screen without the use of any cables.

If you are wondering about its sound system, the LUMOS FLOAT dual system gives you a more dynamic cinematic surround sound, so you do not have to buy additional external speakers to complete that cinematic experience which you have always wanted.

While I enjoyed most of its enhanced functions, one drawback of the design is that the cable may get in the way when you tilt your projector upwards. It would also be better if the cable could be longer, as the power points may not always be located near where you put your projector.

For its features, compact size and practical functions, it is affordably priced from S$199 for the regular set, S$298 for the smart version (with inbuilt/downloadable apps) comes in 3 different colors for you to choose from. A for Apothecary Skin review from an eczema warrior

As an eczema warrior who had been battling with a broken skin for years, I am on a constant hunt for products that are gentle and works for the very sensitive skin. I was recently introduced to A for Apothecary Skin by their founder Jingyi and was curious to find out more about the brand, and her products. Who would say no to gentle skincare which are sustainably sourced?

About A for Apothecary Skin

The brand was founded in 2018 and uses only natural, plant-based and organically sourced ingredients targeted at baby skin issues inspired from the issues which Jingyi personally faced with her son. Their products are cruelty-free, sustainably sourced from farm to table, benefiting farmers, women and the earth.

I loved that their ingredients are also free from a long list of preservative and addictive such as Paraffin, Fragrance, Parabens, Alcohol, Urea and Silicon just to name a few. All products are lovingly blended in small batches in her lab-studio to ensure their freshness and you can be rest assured that her labs are properly sanitized. It is not easy to omit such ingredients because every skincare needs some kind of preservatives to maintain its shelf-life, but I am glad that she was able to find her perfect blend!

The brand started with products made for mums and babies, but has since expanded, incorporating more products and even those that specifically targets adult who have sensitive skin or with eczema issues like me. It must be fate that our paths happened to cross at this time because I so happened to be in a struggle over my hormonal acnes break-out cycle. I get them ever so often now due to the never-ending work stress on top of my itch-scratch cycle.

Recommended products for adults with sensitive/eczema skin

As I have eczema skin, Jingyi recommended me to try out their NaKeD Cleansing Oil and Rose Gold Elixir which was suitable for all skin types and safe for use on the sensitive skin.

NaKeD cleansing oil is a lightweight, plant based, natural cleansing oil that doesn't require you to double cleanse. It protects your skin as it deeply cleanses, while protecting your skin barrier. It also purifies, nourishes and moisturizes your skin as it cleans. I was skeptical about not double cleansing at first because I have the tendency to use a mild facial cleanser even when my make-up remover directions tell me that I don't need to double cleanse.

I have tried to wash my face using only the NaKeD cleansing oil and I have tried removing my daily make-up with eye and lip products using only the cleansing oil and not double cleansing. I am so surprised that it is capable of removing my make up well. Not only that, my face also actually feels clean after washing off all the make-up and dirt, that I was so confident of not double cleansing afterwards.

It is made from key ingredients such as grapeseed oil, squalene, safflower oil, hemp oil and jojoba oil. Other than these key ingredients, they have also added some extracts such as oat lipid, sea buckthorn, rosehip seed, rosemary, cucumber, mint, geranium, bitter orange, Niroli, and Vitamin E for their various benefits to moisturize, stimulate collagen growth, protect your skin and to soothe it. It's no wonder it smells so good.

Since it is free from harsh chemicals and fragrances, it is safe for use on all skin types, even for those with sensitive skin, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers too! Their scent is made chemical-free and extract from CO2 instead of essential oils. The NaKeD cleansing oil is infused with a blend of cucumber and fresh mint with a touch of geranium and a hint of exotic neroli. I've tried it on my ultra-acne sensitive skin, and it works well on them.

The NaKeD cleansing oil turns from oil to milk once it touches water, washes your skin dirt and sebum while it nourishes and protect. To wash your face, simply massage 1-2 pipettes of cleansing oil and wash off with lukewarm water. I normally wash my face with normal tap water temperature and find that it works well too. If you're doing a make-up removal, I would recommend that you use more pipettes of the product so that you can cover all areas with makeup on.

I love its golden colour and the simplicity of her glass bottle packaging. The oil doesn't have any artificial fragrance, instead it smelled like massage oil, the ones that you will get from a spa salon, so you feel very luxurious when you are using it. It may feel weird to cleanse with oil if you are new to them, but you should try it at least once because of their benefits. Don't worry about the oiliness, it does not linger on. I've been oil cleansing for days now and I can vouch for how well it cleanses, at least on my face that is.

The other product which she recommended is their Rose Gold Elixir. If you suffer from skin hormonal imbalance due to over production of sebum, this product is here to help you. This was such a timely savior for me as I have this hateful on-going hormonal acne break-out.

The Rose Gold Elixir is made from a blend of organic cold-pressed plant oils such as Oat Lipid e, Rosehip Seed, Sea Buckthorn, Calendula and Rosemary. It promises to leave your skin healthy and glowing in no time.

This multi-purpose oil can be used as a skin moisturizer booster, as a moisturizer on its own or even added to boost a glow to your makeup. The Rose Gold Elixir aims to help in over production of sebum, balancing your natural facial oils and targets hormonal acne. It was so popular that they had since decided to upgrade it to a 20ml size. I usually use only small amounts of the oil, warm in in my palms before I massage them on my face and neck. It is sufficient to use this as a moisturizer directly after toning my face because I do not have a dry skin, but it also feels ok to use it as a skin booster on days when I needed an extra moisture boost.

I spot a similar golden colour, glass bottle packaging and the same simple branding. It is easy to mix up the 2 oils if you didn't look properly. The Rose Gold Elixir is fast absorbing as they proclaimed. It had a light scent, not overpowering and the oil doesn't feel heavy on the skin. I love that I now wake up with a glowy skin every morning. I also believed that it had started doing its work on my skin as my little red acne bumps seems to have calm down, and gotten better, so my skin looked better than before. Aura Blender Review - Start blending your way to better health

The need to stay healthy and to keep up with a healthy lifestyle is becoming increasingly important over the years! To help us live a healthier lifestyle in this fast-moving world, we are becoming more dependent on electronic gadgets to help us in our daily chores. The blender is one such common gadget in the Singapore's home as it is widely used to chop up food, crush ice, mix spice blends and even create milkshakes, smoothie and juices!

Aura is Singapore's leading brand specializing in portable blenders. Their mission is to pioneer the future of on-the-go nutrition, empowering a healthier and happier lifestyle, and make optimal nutrition accessible to all. The product is designed in California and made from borosilicate glass, unlike commonly found blenders which are made with plastic which made it a safer and better choice!

The Aura Portable Blender is a unique portable blender which allows you to bring nutritious drinks you've made on the go and to even consume it without having to pour your drink out.

What's more interesting is that it is wireless and rechargeable. It takes 1-1.5hrs to fully charge it up! Being wireless means that you can have the freedom to bring it anywhere you want and create drinks at that spur of the moment! I love this feature as I have always found it troublesome to use wired appliances!

The wire adds up to the weight and make using the appliance a chore. The Aura portable blender is safe for both warm and cold blends. Let's try it out!

Have you already made a guess from the ingredients above what I am going to make? It is really simple and easy to use! Just cut your desired ingredients into smaller chunks and add your desired liquid before blending them up. You can use water, cow's milk, almond milk or even juices to blend up your ingredients. Top up your bottle of ingredients with liquid to about 80% and give it a gentle shake to mix them up, and settle them down. Now, you are ready to go! I wouldn't advise blending on a full bottle as it may make it harder for the blender to work well.

I wanted to have purely banana with milk this round but decided to add some blueberries for additional antioxidants and sweetness! Gosh! It was sweetness overload, but it was super yummy! The fruits were very well blended in a matter of seconds! Everything was blended smoothly and there weren't even any chunks in my milkshake. You can drink it straight from the glass bottle too! How convenient is that?
I've chosen to pour mine out so you can have a closer look at the blend and also to share with my family. If you are going to bring your drink out, simply unscrew the bottom blender cap and replace it with the plastic cap they have provided in your pack. Afterwards, tilt it back so that the cap with the handle is facing upwards so that you can hold it at the handle.

To help you keep your drinks at your desired temperature wherever you go, you can purchase an additional Aura Insulated Sleeve. Since the Aura Blender is made of glass, this also serves as a protection sleeve for your portable blender. You can actually fit the whole blender in it too! The insulated sleeve also serves well as a protection sleeve for all your other 500ml bottles when you bring them outdoors! Think about sipping that freshly blended warm macchiato or ice-blended juices!

There's is no need to worry about cleaning up after use too! Simply wash off any residue in your blender with water. Add more water and some dishwashing liquid, start your blender to clean and wash them off again. You can repeat this process for another 1-2 times until you are satisfied. As the blades are sharp, do avoid cleaning or coming in contact with them directly.

Overall, the Aura blender is a great addition to help me kick start a healthier lifestyle as I now can blend healthy juices, smoothies, milkshake and many more delicious drinks on the go! It makes so much more sense to blend my own juice and drinks with a portable blender at home because I know exactly what goes into making them. It's much more cost effective too and the whole family can enjoy them together! Not only is this blender very useful, but it is also fun and can make a great family bonding activity. I can't wait to try out more recipes and start blending the healthier away!

What to buy at Scarlett Supermarket 思家客 - Drinks (Non-Alcoholic)

Scarlett Supermarket 思家客 had been in Singapore since 2020. They started out with their first flagship store in Chinatown, Trengganu Street. Today, you can find an outlet in most of the neighborhood mall. The ones located in popular regions are usually bigger with household items, daily essentials, food, snacks and drinks and carries most of the items. While the ones within the neighborhood are small shops usually only carrying the more common food items. They have a total of 14 stores island-wide now.

While they are famous for their China snacks and food items, they do carry a variety of drinks as well. I love their bottle packaging which are always so fanciful looking! They have many interesting alcoholic drinks too, unfortunately my family don't take alcoholic drinks, so we only tried out their teas. As before, the list of drinks that me/my family have tried are randomly listed in no particular order of our preference. If you are lost and the first time in Scarlett Supermarket, or even if you are their existing customer looking for something else to try, I certainly hope that this list will come in useful for you, so here we go!

Some of these drinks found in this list can be found in our local supermarkets too! They are not unique to only Scarlett Supermarket. Most of their bottled tea are affordable at cost only $1 or just slightly more.

#1 Wang Lao Ji

If you've tried our local JiaJia herbal tea (佳佳凉茶）, then you will not find this drink unfamiliar as it tastes identical except it is sweeter! Its sweetness is acceptable, and I would buy it again if they were on a promotion as it is a herbal tea which can help to expel heat in our body, especially after indulging in all the tasty and unique snacks! I believe I first saw this brand on a China Singing variety show and got curious about it.

#2 Nongfu Spring Fruit Tea - Assorted Flavour

These are a combination of tea and fruit flavorings. They have really nice graphic designs, so I was attracted to try them. I also see people buying cartons of them whenever I am shopping in Scarlett Supermarket. So far, I have only tried the Peach Oolong (The one with a monkey on a swing) and I find the peach flavor light and oolong flavor pleasant. I will recommend this to you if you are a peach tea fan like me.

#3 Wang Zai Milk Beverage

Any Wang Zai fans? This drink had been trending in Singapore since I was a kid. You can find them in the local supermarket as well. It tastes sweet, somewhat like a diluted condense milk but has a really cute and attractive packaging. I am unsure of how the other 2, the yellow and green ones (apple and juice flavoured) ones, as I have only tried the red one (original milk) before.

#4 HeyTea Fruit Tea

This fruit tea comes in a variety of fanciful colours and flavors. We picked up their grapefruit green tea and peach oolong. The 50% sugar is a great idea and definitely healthier choice! Love the refreshing taste! Recommended to try! You can still taste the green tea despite other flavourings in the tea!

#5 Oriental Leaf Tea Nongfu Spring

These tea comes in a variety of flavours. If you are one who prefer something healthy without any sugar and frills, then you should try the Oriental Leaf Tea. They have a variety of flavours like Jasmine Tea, Green Tea, Oolong Tea, Black Tea, Brown Rice Tea and Green Orange Pu Er Tea. We got the Green Tea to try but can't wait to try the others too!
